Salient Features of KRSU HT CDB compared with TMT Construction Bars

  • Higher Ultimate Tensile Strength against Re-bars and TMT.

Re-enforced Steel is made by two processes. The first being the TMT Process, where the material is Hot Rolled and the surface is quenched by water jets to bring the materials surface temperature down rapidly from 950 centigrade  to 350 centigrade .This hardens only the surface of the Re-in forcing Bar, which is called ’’TMT Bar’’.
The second process, which is the process adopted by KRSU, again for the first time in India, which is indeed a better process, for the various reasons mentioned further. Plain round of the best chemical composition are worked upon by us in a cold process. First we de-scale the material fully, thereby eliminating any surface inadequacies, than we ’’deform’’ and ’’rib’’ the same material to the required/requisite size and exactly cut the bar to the desired length. This cold deforming process ensure that the material has a uniform thickness all the way through, has the bright finish and immaculate ribs to ensure the best bond strength with concrete, has the correct weight per meter and most importantly a Higher Proof Stress and UTS while maintaining elongation in between 10-12%always.All these reasons prove why the KRSU-HT-CDB is better than any ‘’TMT Bar’’.

  • Section Weight & Saving due to lower than Diameter KRSU-HT-CDB :

Due to our KRSU-HT-CDB being thinner than a conventional re-bar, the section weight reduces and the number of pieces per ton increase. This alone is a saving of 15% to 35%.

WHY KRSU-HT-CDS AS OPPOSED TO TMT BARS?

  • Better Structural Performance :

KRSU’s Cold drawn bar has a lower gap between bent bars, when compared with TMT Bar.
This also leads to a “smaller” bend.
The closer the bars are together means better distributed shrinkage cracks in structural columns and beams.

 

  • Higher Bond Strength / Higher Grip Compared With TMT :

Since KRSU-HT-CDB has better designed Ribs on three facets / faces, it has a higher bond strength and better grip with concrete unlike any TMT bars.

  • Easier to use due to thinner diameter in pre-fab. & Fabricated structures :

Since KRSU-HT-CDB is ductile and thinner, YET STIFF, it is easier and quicker to use for the fabrication of structural components such as slabs, pillars and beams.

  • Economy :

Considering factors of consistency and thinner diameter, higher strength and ductility, KRSU-HT-CDB works out 14% to 35% more economical (in steel cost alone) compared to the other kinds of re bars & TMT, where the diameter control is poor & strength is lower.

LOWER CONCRETE DIMENSION

The cost saving in concrete is additional due to lower diameter steel being used. Better distributed shrinkage cracks in structural columns and beams due lower diameters allows for this benefit. KRSU-HT-CDB can be used with any grade of cement or concrete like 1:2:4 (M-15), 1:1.5:3(M-20) etc without any loss in economy, functional aspects, structural safety and strength, In fact lower diameter of material means lower concrete required.

SPECIALLY COATED RUST PREVENTION

Specially coated rust prevention KRSU-HT-CBD is ideal for Overhead Water Tanks & other man made water bodies needed for use for a short term. This is a huge saving compared to using CRS or Epoxy coated re bars, not only due to the lower diameter and higher strength but also because our specially coated KRSU-HT-CDB suffice to stay rust free for 10 years even in water bodies after its embedded in the cement, “where the specialized coating has not broken off ”. Specially coated KRSU-HT-CDB can not be used as a replacement for CRS or Epoxy coated steel must be used.
Furthermore, the customer gets fresh non-rusted material to use. This has made KR-HT-CDB a winning product which has received immediate acceptance and critical acclaim for its quality / consistency in quality.
